So Sunday just there was father day, I've never really had or cared for having an actual father, but my grandpa has always taken on the role of making sure I have everything I need and for that I am truly grateful. Between my mum, gran and grandpa, I've always had enough love in my childhood to not even notice I didn't have a dad. Anyway... Father's Day is always special to me so we can spoil my grandpa as he deserves it and this Sunday was no different.
We had all been at a close family friends 21st the night before In Grangemouth and Graeme was the designated driver so my grandpa could have a few. The next morning I had quite a sore head but we all got up and had breakfast and gave him our presents. A nice bottle of whiskey - Glenmorangie - and dark chocolate are always musts on Father's Day, a nice jumper, a book and some smellies. After we gave our gifts my grandpa and I headed into town for some supplies while my mum showered/got ready and Graeme tidied.

My uncle Thomas and my two little cousins arrived at about 1.00 pm and I was disappointed to hear they weren't planning on staying for long as one of them had plans back home. I managed to pull their legs however and everyone was on board for a BBQ. I got on to preparing the chicken, potatoes etc with my mum while everyone sat out enjoying the sun.
It's not often all of our small family get together, but when we do it's so nice to see everyone and catch up, we all need to make the effort to do so on a more regular basis. Taking pictures and writing blog posts for me isn't a way to tell anyone else about what I'm doing as I'm aware most people won't even care. To me it's just about writing a personal diary that I can look back on when I'm older and think aw.. Yeah, how nice was that day? It's just a bonus if anyone else is interested in what I get up to.
The food was delicious. The weather started out a bit shaky but towards eating time the sun was beaming down. My uncle and cousins left around 5.00pm and my Grandpa, Mum, Graeme and I retired to the couch to watch hitch and have an afternoon nap.
